Russell Peters, Canadian King of International Comedy

Since his last tour of South Africa in December 2003, Russell Peters has skyrocketed in popularity to become the biggest comic on the planet. He’s been touring non-stop across the globe since his last trip to what he describes as his ‘home’, South Africa.

After playing to sold-out theatres from Sydney to New York, the world-wide comedy phenomenon finally returned to perform in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban with his all new show featuring new tales from all of his travels.

In June, Peters performed for over 30,000 fans over two nights at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. Both shows were sold-out – a first for any comic at the world-famous home of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team.

"All this travelling around just helps me come up with new material. I see things. I talk about them. That's what I do"

A total of 50,000 plus fans turned-out to support the international funny man during his recent ‘Homecoming Tour’ in just five cities across Canada.

The 18-year comic veteran brought his all-new act to:

Cape Town
CTICC
10th & 11th October
Johannesburg
Sandton Convention Centre
13th & 14th October
Durban
Expo Centre
17th & 18th October

Not satisfied with being the best-known comic in Canada, Peters sold over 27,000 tickets during two tours of Australia and New Zealand in 2006. He also did five nights of sold-out shows in Singapore, two back-to-back sold-out shows at New York’s Beacon Theatre and a sold-out tour of the UK in 2006.

Peters’ last DVD/CD, Outsourced, sold almost 100,000 copies in his native Canada.

Avantage Consultants hosted corporate hospitality at the Durban, Expo Centre show.
